Sneha Ullal is an Indian movie actress who has worked in some Hindi and some Telugu movies. She is popular for her role in Telugu movies such as Ullasamga Utsahamga, Simha, and Hindi movies such as Lucky: No Time for Love.
Sneha Ullal was born on 18 Dec 1987 to a Tulu speaking father and a Sindhi mother. She studied in Muscat, Oman at Indian School Wadi Kabir and later at Indian School, in Salalah. Later, her mother moved with her to Mumbai, India. She studied at Durelo Convent High School and then completed her graduation from Vartak College. She is currently living in Delhi.
Sneha made her debut in the Bollywood movie Lucky: No Time for Love opposite Salman Khan. She played the innocent school going girl who is caught in a sudden terrorist attack. She resembled Aishwarya Rai a lot. However, the resemblance did not help her much in her acting career but made her famous. She later starred opposite to Sohail Khan in Aryan, which did not succeed at box office. She did a cameo role in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron in 2007, which was a comedy movie.
She took a break from Bollywood movies as she thought that she was too young to work in movies. Ullasamga Utsahamga was Ullal‘s debut in a Telugu movie in the year 2008. It was a romantic comedy film which starred Yasho Sagar as her male lead. She played the female lead Dhanalakshmi. This movie was a blockbuster and she won the Santosham Best Debut Actress Award for it. Her next Telugu movie was Nenu Meeku Telusa in the year 2009, which was a psychological thriller. She worked alongside Manoj Manchu as the male lead along with Ullal and Riya Sen as female leads. She appeared in a Telugu song Nevvu Ready in the movie King starring Nagarjuna. In 2009 she acted in the movie Current which was a Telegu comedy drama directed by Palnati Surya Pratap. Sushanth was the male lead in the movie. She starred in a horror movie Click in 2010. This was a Bollywood remake of the Thai Horror film Shutter. The plot revolves around an Ace Photographer Avi (Shreyas Talpade) who is in a live-in relationship with a girl named Sonia. They are involved in a hit and run while returning from a party. Avi insists on running away from the accident and thus the trouble starts for them. She plays the ghost in this movie. She plays another cameo in the 2010 movie flick Varuda. The movie starred Allu Arjun in the main lead.
She bagged a lead role in the movie Simha released in the year 2010. The movie’s main lead cast were Nandamuri Balakrishna in a dual role along with Nayantara and Sneha Ullal in other leads. This movie received lot of positive reviews from critics. This was 2010’s most commercially successful movie. The plot revolves around the university lecturer, who cannot tolerate injustice and beats people who do not follow laws. People respect and fear him. Sneha plays Janaki who is a new student and is initially scared of the male lead but initially develops a crush on him. In 2011, she was casted in the movie Ala Modlaindi (That’s how it started). The cast had Nani, Nithya and Sneha. It collected $3.3 million in 100 days. It is considered as a super hit of the Telugu Cinema. She also acted in a Kannada movie Devi in the same year.
Madatha Kaja was another comedy movie in which she was casted as a lead actress in 2011. She had a special appearance in a Bengali movie Most Welcome in 2011. She was casted in Action 3D which was a 2013 Telugu comedy movie which was made in 3D. The movie had some scenes remade from The Hang over and Dhamaal.
Sneha was last seen in the 2015 Hindi romantic movie Bezubaan Ishq. It had Mugdha Godse, Sneha Ullal, and Nishant in lead roles. She portrayed the role of Rumzum, an innocent and a kind hearted girl.
Sneha was one of those few lucky ones in Bollywood and Tollywood who had the privilege of working with some of the big names in the movie industry. Although she has not worked in a lot of Hindi or Telugu movies, she is still remembered as a good actress mainly because of her close resemblance to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
