Director Raj Chakraborty is a bundle of nerves at present as his film ‘Dui Prithibi’ has released recently and he is waiting to gauge the audience response. The director revealed that his new movie is not a typical Bengali flick, that the audience are used to. In ‘Dui Prithibi’ we get to see the two central characters, Jeet and Dev, undertaking a journey. The movie has a number of subplots involving these two characters which makes every scene special.
In ‘Dui Prithibi’ the audience even get to see a unique Maoist angle. The director told us that the Maoist connection was inevitable because Koel Mallick’s character was shown working at a Lalgarh medical camp.
Raj Chakraborty specially added the Venice song sequences of the lead characters to polish up the overall look of the film. The Venice shooting sequence has added glamour to the film which was appreciated by the viewers. The music for ‘Dui Prithibi’ has been scored by Jeet Ganguli, and the songs have acquired quite a few brownie points from the audience. The director said that he is extremely happy with the performances doled out by Dev, Koel, and Jeet.
However, the director himself thinks that he could have done a better job. Guess we will have to wait for his next film to see the difference.
