Abhishek, Deepika together for Gowariker’s film
The much awaited ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’ was finally launched with a mahurat in Goa on November 10. The film which is a first-time-ever collaboration between ace director Ashutosh Gowariker and PVR pictures will feature Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.
A period thriller, inspired by the Chittagong Uprising of 1930, ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’ is based on the book ‘Do And Die’ by Manini Chatterjee. Talking about the maiden collaboration Sunita Gowariker, Producer, AGPPL said, “‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’ is a film for which Ashutosh Gowarikar Productions and PVR Pictures have come together for the first time with their ‘Jee’ and ‘Jaan’. We are excited to collaborate with them as our partners/ co-producers for this film. PVR being great exhibitors we look forward to a great association with both Ajay and Sanjeev Bijli.”
A visibly excited Ajay Bijli, Chairman and MD, PVR Ltd, echoed Gowarikar’s sentiment. “We are proud to associate with AGPPL for ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’. We are excited about the story idea, and have tremendous faith that Ashutosh and his team will make a great film, which will be remembered in the years to come,” he said.
The film which is to be shot in Goa, is eyeing a release in the 4th quarter of 2010. Though Abhishek Bachchan has already arrived at the location, Deepika is expected to join the unit soon. Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar has penned the songs for the movie and Neeta Lulla has been roped in to design the costumes. Art direction will be done by Nitin Desai while Kiiran Deohans is the director of photography.

most likely it will be a flop b/c of abhishek who is a king of flops. ashutosh is an honest director but his movies really need high caliber actors and actresses w/ huge screen presence (creme de la creme)to make his movie a hit. that’s why lagaan (aamir) and JA (hritik and aishwarya)were hits, otherwise they would be such long and dragging movies. abhishek is not good looking or doesn’t have that great screen presence. hopefully they make deepika really beautiful w/ all the “old world” costumes, etc along w/ the movie more interesting and 2 hrs (not 3 or 4 hrs).
