Movie Review: WANTED; Star cast: Salman Khan, Ayesha Takia, Vinod Khanna, Mahesh Manjrekar, Prajkash Raj, Govind Namdeo, Inder Kumar, Aseem Merchant, Sajid; Director: Prabhu Deva; Rating: **1/2.
If you are crazy about regular commercial masala films leaving your brains at home, Wanted is the right choice. Wanted is a canvas painted in south Indian colours where you can get a glimpse of Rajnikanth in our macho man Salman Khan. Woah hold down It’s a Prabhu Deva film, Bingo
Wanted is undisputedly a well-written story with an excellent screenplay. But there is a flipside to it. It is a well-written story which lacks good direction and editing.
Wanted opens up with an interesting plot with commissioner Ashraf Khan (Govind Namdeo) leaving no stones unturned to eradicate underworld terrorism from the country. Radhe (Salman Khan) is a hardcore gangster known for brutality and commitments. All he knows is the language of money. His loyalties lies with any gang provided the money is right. His entry in Gani Bhai (Prakash Raj) gang under the wing of Golden (Aseem Merchant), the right hand of Gani and betrayal to his existing gang headed by Data Pawle leads to bloodshed, as disputes crop up unexpectedly. However, story takes a twist with Golden’s death, which compels Gani Bhai to take matters in his hands and fly back to India. How Gani Bhai realizes the trap of commissioner Ashraf Khan, and the truth of Salman Khan, would have been an exciting watch had Prabhu Deva tightened his script.
Cinematographers Nirav Shah and S Sriram are simply excellent. Special effects are over the top; could have been subtle. The music is awful, except ‘Dil Leke’ track, which is the only saving grace.
No refreshing treat for ears, as far as stereotypical dialogues go.
Wanted rides on Salman Khan despite his regular run-of-the-mill, yet nice performance. Ayesha Takia is good and looks gorgeous. Mahesh Manjrekar is perfect for his part as a womanizer. Prakash Raj as Gani Bhai has small, yet pivotal role and lives up to it beautifully. Vinod Khanna and Inder Kumar don’t have much scope, though they are instrumental to the pace of the story. Aseem Merchant is fairly good. Same goes for Govind Namdeo.
On the whole, ‘Salman Khan’ factor will pull the audience to make this film survive. Infact, half the battle is won, courtesy loads of hype. My verdict: One time watch.

sallu or any other can’t take place of our telugu pokiri in any aspects. MAHESH BABU (telugu pokiri) is the coolest of all. POKIRI can’t be compared with salman khan.

Wanted is a must watch! Of course u cant compare Salman with telugu super star Mahesh Babu as we telugu watch this film comparing to the ” Pokiri”. Its sure that u love the original movie. But…….. Watch it as a bollywood film n compare with other films , I am damn sure that u will love it. Even Mr. perfectionist Aamir khan had not performed like Surya in Gajini.
Wanted movie is the superb, and salman you’r the best. all fans loves you and i am one of them.

wanted music is bakvaaz,salman average,mahesh manjrekar not so serious in his action,background music nothing,prakash raj good acting, poor editing, prabudeva is junior artist at front of all this actors..he can not bargain with them if the acting is not done as per him….

Esha Razdan has been too critical about the movie. Actually, its not the OSCAR JUDGES who will be watching the movie in cinemas to be that critical. Its just the common man Esha. Although its a dancer who directed the movie you do not feel any gross errors of direction in this movie.
Most importantly, its a movie made to attract mass category of audians (doesn’t mean mass movies are bad). Majority of audience belong to mass category(infact its a clever choice to make a mass movie, it will most certainly not be a flop) and they are the ones who decide between hit movie or a flop movie(not between a good movie or a bad movie ofcourse)
This movie as it attracts mass crowd alot(it has enough ingradients fot that), its going to be a good hit.
The only place the movie makers would have done better was the Music. Its needs mass version of music like Hello brother. All they can do now is to add one good item number to this movie asap.
And to review this review in one line, ESHA, know your audience. This line is for u.
and one more thing, this site comments have got too much of north south discrimination. Esha’s review also adds to it. Come on Esha, you are a reviewer, just review the movie.

“Salman” is good in the movie “Mahesh” was outstanding and you will also cometo know if u watch the original version of it and Then tell me who is the uncle?Salman or Mahesh.HA HAHa……..

Mahesh Babu rocks in Pokiri and Salman is just nothing when compared to him. It’s not the question of north and south and it’s about the acting, direction, music, songs etc. and Pokiri is superb in all these compared to Wanted. Without watching Mahesh’s acting/movies don’t comment. We have seen both the versions. Did u see Mahesh’s movie? And don’t use rubbish language.

hey guys I havent see th pokiri but wanted is overal a gud muvi, worth to watch, Salman is gud actor n he has dn a gud job……i hav seen the Ghajini….in tamil aswell…..didnt understand the language but it was 100% copy but surely Aamir did well thn Suriya(his prfrmnce was gud aswell)…..Wavted had a bit lack of dirfection but after all its Prabhu Deva’s Ist muvie and cant expect much more……Even i think Salman took a big risk to do this muvi as prabhu was a new director and film is completely southindian style……but they prove a gud chemistry with Ayesha Takia’s cute acting and gud performance of Prakash & Mahesh……so enjoy……its worth to watch……..gets interesting after intervel……CHEERS……
