Both Bhatts and myself have contributed to each other: Emraan Hashmi
Emraan Hashmi is bound to be ecstatic. And rightly so, considering his ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’ has taken a good start all over and is all set to be at the least a HIT at the box office. Last year too he had a superhit ‘Jannat’ and before that too there were quite a few successful films with Bhatt brothers.
Does that reaffirm once again that Bhatts and Emraan Hashmi are a success formula?
Says Emraan in an excited tone, “Well, it’s a fact for all to see that we do make a great pair after all. Of course there is a great team effort behind all the successful films. If we look at ‘Jannat’, it explored a different subject altogether while ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’ gets into a different zone completely.”
Well, if he sounds confident about his recent release that was directed by Mohit Suri, it is understandable considering he was always super excited about the subject.
“Yes, I was quite positive about the prospects of ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’. I had a bit of slump in my career before ‘Jannat’ but with that film becoming a success, I am much more upbeat about my new release. See, I have been swimming against the tide for most of my films. Even though some of my earlier films didn’t do too well, I didn’t want to get trapped into doing same old formulaic films. I am still taking my chances but thankfully they are paying off!”
Earlier in case of ‘Jannat’, he was not too happy with the way it’s promotion had kick started. In case of ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’, he was involved in it from Day One. Does he feel that the terrific promotion has been able to finally make it’s mark and help pitch the film well for the audience?
“Yes, the publicity of the film here was always very promising. See, today it’s the first look of the film that makes an audience decide whether he/she intends to watch the film or not. I can confidently say that this one was a more thought of campaign. We learnt a lot from promotion of ‘Jannat’. This is why in case of ‘Raaz – the Mystery Continues’, we have simple gone all out without leaving any stones unturned”, says Emraan while basking in the glory of his second big success in a row after ‘Jannat’.
Vishesh Films too has now completed 20 years in the industry. Does he feel that he too has really contributed in bringing this banner to the state that it finds itself in today?
“There is contribution for sure and I can proudly say that it has been more hand in hand”, says Emraan in an honest tone, “They were helping me out ever since my first break in ‘Footpath’. I won’t say whether I have done more for them or they have done more for me; it’s all irrelevant. What matters is that our sensibilities match and we work together as a team. It takes two hands to clap; something that we have done to enhance each other’s positioning in the industry. Our tuning has worked.”
Clearly pleased about his stint with the Bhatts, he declares, “I like the kind of content that they generate in their films. I am hungry for the kind of characters that I am offered by them to play.
