Alka Yagnik may never work again with Anu Malik

After Anu Malik insulted Alka Yagnik on National Television during an episode of Indian Idol 4 she is contemplating never work under his music direction ever again! Alka had been one of Annu’s favourite and most used singers during his hey days. But a decline in their individual careers saw them working less often. Last time they came together it was J.P. Dutta’s Abhishek Bachchan - Aishwarya Rai starrer, Umrao Jaan (2006).

A source revealed, “Alka had substituted Kailash Kher for the Mumbai auditions after Kailash could not make it due to his prior commitments. It was a pleasant (at least it seemed so) surprise for Annu on seeing her as Kailash’s substitute. But things began going out of hand when Annu flipped for a good looking participant while Alka felt that the girl had a long way to go where singing was concerned. Alka dared to comment against Annu saying it should not just be good looks to choose anyone for the next round. Annu got enraged. Later matter went out of hand when Alka chose an average looking participant which Annu had written off as a bad singer. Annu got so wild that he questioned Alka’s capacity to be a judge. Then on a series of banter took place between the two. Now after the day was over Alka expected the makers to keep this verbal dual kept out of final edit of that episode. She spoke to the makers and she was also assured back then that all this would be edited out. Annu too in front of her had requested for the same. But as she saw the 26th September episode of Indian Idol 4 she was shocked to see this entire thing kept as it is. May be perhaps to garner more TRPs for this failing in popularity reality show! Extremely upset, she called up the makers to give them a lashing but was surprised to hear what one of the officials told her back. It is learnt that the official sheepishly admitted to her that the permanent resident judge of Indian Idol since last three seasons, Annu Malek had very much insisted on keeping the entire thing on in the final cut. It was his way of getting back to Alka!

“Anu’s ego had been hurt by Alka who openly dared him and pointed out his weakness for singing beauties over singing talent. He threw all his weight on the makers to ensure that his shouting at Alka and questioning her ability to judge a singing talent show to be kept intact. Alka who has been a judge of singing reality shows on Zee and Star Plus earlier had already been hurt by his rude behaviour during the shoot and now seeing this backstabbing right in front of her own eyes she has been very really distressed. It is extremely less likely that she will venture into the recording studio for Annu again.” the source concluded. -(SAMPURN)
