It's always been said that to attain something people sometime have to compromise for something. Sometimes these compromises make the journey to the desired future enjoyable and sometimes, people have nothing but to repent for whatever he had done in the name of compromise. The film, Rock On, rocks on that basic thought only.
They, namely Aditya (Farhan), Joe (Arjun), KD and Rob (Luke Kenny), fight hard to take their band 'Magik' to the position of number one. They get the opportunity to hit the music chart with an opportunity won in a competition of Channel V. The music channel also provides them with a chance of recording their first album. But no victory comes without its different effects. Here also, they have to compromise few things and the situation takes Joe away from Aditya. Magik gets closed. Aditya leaves all his friends and turns into a businessman while on the other hand, Joe keeps himself happy with his guitar.
Story rolls for ten years. One day Aditya's wife (Prachi) comes to know about Aditya's band Magik and to make Aditya happy, she arranges a reunion party for all his friends who were involved in the band. And the reunion gives a rebirth to the band also. They all fight for another chance at the Channel V stage.
Farhan has really overshadowed other actors in his debut film. Others are also looking cool in their respective roles. As far as the film is concerned, it can easily be called a package with visuals mixing properly with audio. Actors are rock stars and their stage presence is superb. While as a film it's a great gift to the viewers, for listeners, too, it's a wonderful presentation. After his negative performance in OSO, Arjun has brilliantly proved how matured an actor he is. With Prachi's performance, it looks like she has a future in Bollywood. The combination of visuals with dialogue looks really nice on the screen. Direction is really praiseworthy.
After a long time, a film is made to touch all the generations. Hats off to Farhan and Abhishek Kapoor.

I loved sitting through the entire film. It's a different kind of movie watching experience in Bollywood. For most of it you feel like you are in a rock concert, you are continuously tapping your feet, you can barely sit still, you feel like putting your hands up in the air and sing along with the rock stars from the rock band 'Magic' performing on stage. It's a great musical experience.

Brilliant movie!!! Must watch. Superb performances by all the actors/actresses. We can of course see a reminiscent of Dil Chahta Hai in the plot (for obvious reasons) but that nevertheless comes across as refreshingly new and different. Cheers to these guys for touching the concept in the most mature of possible ways.
The music too is absolutely brilliant. It takes a little “getting used to” to Farhan’s voice, as with any rock band’s singer with a different voice, but after that you just cannot stop listening to the tracks. It is contemporary rock with a Rock and Roll touch.
Kudos to the makers for bringing Indian rock to a wider audience in such a classy way.

I read an article somewhere about the Bahu being a Babe under the sari and dyammmmmmm is the article true. Prachi’s role wasn’t long but fuh sure significant and positive. At the age of what 19 she has given a poised and mature performance and showed alot of potentional. She made Bani what it was and yet there was no Bani in Sakshi. It was just Sakshi. Take a bow lady. For me the surprise was how good Farhan and Prachi looked as husband-wife. Take bow Farhan and Prachi. Honest and Genuine acting.
Arjun surpised me with his intense portrayal of a failed man. I used to think he was a wood. He also has shown his potential. Three cheers for Arjun. More of an actor now than model. Purab was wicked funny and added the much need humor.
Overall good movie. Nice story. Well directed. Rock On ROCKS the HOUSE

I Am Waited it before 1 & 1\2 Month To Watch on release day at dolby Hall & I have done it .It’s story is something different,it’s have no Dusty thing like item no. & sexual activity like rubbish,little sexual thing it’s ok,it’s style is “zara Hatke” .very good movie .I love to watch it again .

Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny have done a great job.Farhan Akhtar is really col in his first movie. Arjun has prooved himself as allrounder in bollywood.
gud movie in bollywood after so long. But lacks minor things like if they had to put a lead guitarists then i hardly find arjun playing solo. he sucked that part playing solo like rhythm and Rock band must have a bass guitarists. Is there a bassist in this band magik Come on! there was actually no need of the keyboadist rock music can work without keyboard but cannot without a bassist.
This is the major defect of bollywood. whenever they try do do jhara hatke then they forget minor things and this makes the movie very bad on international level. anyways farhan vocals rocks
Prachi’s acting is stupid. she looks dirty and no acting sense i suppose. TV stars now a days cant make it to BIG SCREEN

Good Movie. Delicate storyline superbly touched. Critical point is directors needed to show more of making rock music. The end was good but how did Rampal made the stage from a traffic Jam

Okay, here goes.
1) Rock music is not just lyrics, its about the spirit of rock, its about being yourself, its about beauty and its like a ripple on the soul. The movie was a complete failure in that sense, the music was so pathetic I would actually like to kill the music director for even having the guts to call that rock music, it had terrible, half assed uncut rough solos, loser lyrics, long dragged out vocals…..basically any hindi music with longer out of place solos, thats not rock, never ever from any angle can that be called rock music.
2) Pathetic acting, has the director ever met any rock artist before?? He should ATLEAST do that much before making a movie like that. Is that how they are?? OH PUH-LEASE, bunch of emo kids? The dialogues? So terrible (the delivery AND the substance) , there is no spirit of rock at all, the most important thing of all. Ask any person who seriously likes rock music and he will tell you that!!! I mean wtf?
3) The script, pretty cheesy but I would let it pass, I wouldnt have hated the script so much if not for the brutal murder of rock music and its true spirit.
Well whatever, but seriously if anyone actually wants to listen to some good rock pick up something like led zep(focus on music), the doors(focus on lyrics), floyd(lyrics+innovation), grateful dead(lyrical beauty and improvisations), pearl jam(more recent band), dylan(sheer poetic beauty), Dire straits(amazing vocals and solos, smooth), Vai(guitar god) or any other sub genre or type of your liking….

I found this movie total failure. I felt as no character was developed in movie. It was lousy movie and i wanted to leave it in middle.
I find the movie very ordinary..nothing very appealing or special…Farhan Akhtar should try his hands only on direction and plz plzzzzz plzzz dont sing..when he sings i feel some Chronic GUTKA eater is singing..pathetic voice..movie could have been better if some gud singer play backed the songs….everyone is average

FARHAN AKHTAR ROCKS AS USUAL.COOL MOVIE.
The movie was quite good at least it was different from the others .Actually this movie got success to captive the audience till the end . I think audience must be tapping their feet while watching the movie . This movie actually showed that for achieving something you have to sacrifice at many point of time while heading towards your goal . There is some negative aspects also like director needed to show more of making rock music , bass guitarist needed while the stage performance because Arjun Rampal did not do well for playing the guitar on the dais , and how Rampal made the stage from a traffic jam .
