I am playing Lakshya Virani in Kyun Ki: Yash Pandit

Yash PanditYash Pandit, the young dude will soon be seen as Lakshya in Balaji's eternal soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The actor, who is very excited working with the soap factory, is also planning to pose in films simultaneously. We got a chance to share a few moments with this young actor with incessant energy for work.

Q. You are entering Kyun Ki…, how does it feel working with Balaji Telefilms?

A. It gives me a very lovely and very nice feeling. I am very excited about it.

Q. Tell us about your character in the serial.

A. I am playing Lakshya Virani, Ganga's son in the serial. It is a positive character in the Virani family.

Q. What made you accept the role?

A. Kyun Ki… being a Balaji serial is itself the biggest reason behind me accepting the offer. I always had the thought that if I appear on television, I will surely work with Balaji. So when I got the call for the role I readily accepted it. They (Balaji) are the big thing in Indian television today. They are like God of television.

Q. Are you excited playing this role?

A. Yeah. It’s a good role. I am fine and going well with it.

Q. Any films you are in besides this serial?

A. I have a film slated with Motion Pictures which will start in the next year. I have already signed the contract with them. But the project will only start post December or January. But that doesn't mean I would be leaving this show. I want to have a long association with Balaji Telefilms.

Q. Are you happy with your career graph?

A. Yes, I am very happy. We want people to see us, so an actor sitting at home is really bad. He has to get involved either in television or in films. He should like people appreciating him and that is the whole idea.

Q. If not an actor, what would you have been?

A. It depends. If I would have been a very rich guy then I would have been producing films. And if not a very rich guy, then I would have directed films or may be become a singer. For me, there's no business like show business.

Q. What kind of roles are you comfortable playing with?

A. I am comfortable playing any kind of roles. I don’t have any preference. But obviously the look that God has given me is for the positive ones of course. But if I get a role like the one Shah Rukh did in Bazigaar or Darr then I would be able to shock the audience in the way that they should say that such a simple boy has turned into such a grey shaded guy. Basically, I would like to play a protagonist in anything I do.

Q. Will you go for any reality show?

A. I would prefer going for a dancing or singing show.

Q. Future projects of yours?

A. Right now I am doing this serial with Balaji and later I might do something else for Balaji. There is one film with Rituparno Ghosh. But nothing is yet final. Maybe it will happen in the next year. I can’t speak more on that.
