Cinthol ad film is bigger than “Dhoom 2″: Hrithik Roshan

Subhash K. Jha: From free-running to bungee jumping to diving into the ocean, Hrithik Roshan is seen doing all that in the Cinthol ad. He says he accepted the offer because it was about movement and progress.
“There was more action in the Cinthol ad than in ‘Dhoom 2′. It was so much fun. I did kayaking, free-running, bungee jumping, mountain climbing, mountain biking, diving into the ocean from the mountain and rugby - all crammed into one ad,” Hrithik, who shot for the ad despite a bad knee, told IANS in an interview.
Apart from commercials, Hrithik has just signed one film this year.
“So far this year I’ve said yes only to Anurag Basu’s ‘Kites’, which he is making for my dad (Rakesh Roshan). But, yes, in my mind I’ve green-signalled a lot more work.”

Q: How did you decide on doing the Cinthol ad?
A: Cinthol has always been about energy. Its philosophy - don’t stop regardless of the barriers - is very close to my heart. As long as there’s movement there’s progress. That’s what the ad was about. And I went with that flow. Cinthol is being re-launched with my ad. The ad film is bigger than “Dhoom 2″.
Q: In what way?
A: There was more action in the Cinthol ad than in “Dhoom 2″. It was so much fun. I did kayaking, free-running, bungee jumping, mountain climbing, mountain biking, diving into the ocean from the mountain and rugby - all crammed into one ad.
Q: All this with a bad knee?
A: Well they say adversity is the mother of invention. So I’ve found a way.
Q: Adversity could also be the mother of further adversities.
A: Ha. It gave me a chance to heal myself by my own formula. I’m doing all it takes.
Q: After being ultra-choosy for so long you’ve decided to work extensively?
A: So far this year I’ve said yes only to Anurag Basu’s “Kites”, which he’s making for my dad (Rakesh Roshan). But, yes, in my mind I’ve green-signalled a lot more work. Actually, I’ve always been game for more work. I’ve never been in a position to lay down pre-conditions. My basic criteria are that I should be excited about the films I agree to do. And then those films should be completed within the stipulated time so that I’d have the time and freedom to take up more assignments.
Q: What about the rumours of serious leg injuries during “Jodhaa Akbar”?
A: This is one of those false stories that have gained credence only because I’ve kept quiet. Let me state once and for all that the injuries did not happen during “Jodhaa Akbar”.
My right knee has been facing a battering from the time I started training for “Krrish”. It was an ongoing process since 2004. The knee was crying for a break that I did not give it. We sometimes forget how human we are. We start looking at ourselves as heroes immune to injury and pain. That’s stupid. I’ve learnt it the hard way. Hopefully, I’ll be fully cured soon, and I’ll be back in action knee-down. I’m a very, very physical person. When I see the outdoors, I just want to run.

My request is about getting in touch with with Hrithik Roshan. We have a mega event here at Arunachal Pradesh on the eve our festival called SOLUNG in which President Smt. Pratibha Patel is also coming a Chief Guest. In this event we needed a bollywood super star whose presence could give inspiration to the thousands of youngster in this eastern most part of the country.
For this, we had also contacted Sharukh’s manager Karuna who later conveyed Sharukh’s personal regards to us and his tight shedule for TV show n IPL. And then we also contacted Meenaksi, Amir Khan’s secretary. But there is no acceptance reply yet.
And then we also contacted Rakesh Roshan’s production house Filmkraft for Hrithik Roshan. But we haven’t got any reply yet of our two mails. Perhaps mails are not reaching him.
Therefore, its our highly request to you to step forward and help us for which act of kindness we would be extremly gratful to you. As you knew, we are not leaving any stone unturn but now we are helpless. Please help us conveying our invitation to him or if u have, mail us his contact number and mail ID.
And we would be also thankful if u could give us Akshay Kumar’s contact too. Then we’ll have option in case we miss Hrithik. Hope any of these two stars won’t bother coming to remote part of this country to inspire youngsters who cheers on their hit films and never misses their film though on small screen.
