Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai today said his upcoming film ‘Black& White’ has been the most challenging project of his 30-year-long career.

Speaking to reporters at the launch of the film’s music here, Ghai said people expect larger than life movies from him. ”Black & White” is of a different genre. ”The subject inspired me very much and I decided to direct it myself,” the producer-director said.

Though reluctant to divulge details of the film which stars Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah and debutant Anurag Sinha, Ghai said that making ‘Black & White’ was new to him at various levels.

”This was one of the reasons why the music was rather difficult to score. Another reason was that the music has been used primarily in the background rather than in song-and-dance numbers. Playback singer Sukhvinder has done a fantastic job in composing the music.

It lifts the movie to a much higher level altogether,” he said.

The music was released by A R Rahman, who is presently scoring the music of Ghai’s next film ”Yuvraaj”.

The film is set in Chandni Chowk, Delhi and debutant from Ghai’s alma mater FTII Anurag Sinha plays a young Muslim from Gujarat who comes to Delhi to accomplish a mission in his life. Anil Kapoor essays the role of a professor.

”Black & White” marks the return of director Ghai after a hiatus of nearly three years.
