New entertainment channel 9X launches today
New Hindi entertainment channel 9X, which began its innings Monday with Ekta Kapoor’s drama series “Kahe Naa Kahe”, will dish out drama, romance, comedy and kitchen politics in a fresh format, its promoters promise.
“Our aim is to make 9X the one-stop shop for fiction and non-fiction entertainment, and our content will be distinctive and compelling. It will have the very best of global production standards customized for the Indian audience,” Indrani Mukerjea, founder and group executive director INX Media Pvt Ltd, said in a press statement.
Launched under the flagship of INX Media Pvt Ltd, 9X promises to provide world-class fiction and non-fiction programming and Bollywood films.
“We see ourselves as a force for change. Our mission is to develop world-class television that will appeal to Indian viewers not just in the country, but globally. We have envisaged 9X as the Indian leader that sets global standards,” said Mukherjea.
Other prime time soaps going live Monday are small screen’s favourite daughter-in-law Smriti Irani’s family drama, “Mere Apne”, which marks the TV debut of Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna.
There is a bouquet of four weekly comedy shows for late night viewers.
At 10.30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, the channel will showcase once a week the Supriya Pathak-Deven Bhojani starrer “Remote Control”, Tanuja and Gaurav Gera starrer “Babban Bhai vs Bimla Tai”, Mihir Mishra and Mona Vasu starrer “Jamegi Jodi.com” and a romantic comedy “Dhak Dhakk in Dubai” starring Shruti Seth, Chandana Sharma, Puneet Vashisht and Tarun Khanna.
“The idea of having a comedy at 10.30 p.m. is to make sure our viewers end their day on a cheerful and relaxed note,” said Mukerjea.
There are special programmes for kids too.
In the non-fiction category they are offering reality shows, including “Mission Ustaad”, which marks music maestro A.R. Rahman’s television debut and will feature some of the biggest names in the musical entertainment world. There will also be game shows and talk shows.
Morning shows like “Good Morning Zindagi”, an infotainment-packed magazine presented by Shakti Anand and Gurdeep Kohli, are part of the package.
The channel’s production partners include Balaji Telefilms, Synergy Adlabs, Endemol India, Ugraya Entertainment, Cinevista, B.A.G. Films, Hats Off Productions, Creative Eye, Miditech, Wizcraft, Edit II Productions and Beyond Dreams.
Its broadcast is based on the MPEG4 format and is completely HDTV-ready in order to cater to the expanding technology platforms in India. Beamed from the Insat-4A satellite in a free-to-air format, 9X will be available across all television delivery platforms including cable, TV, DTH and IPTV, the company said.

I generally enjoy your programmes here in England on your channel but there are some disagreement that I wish to bring to your attention,, please read on:
The dramas on your channel and other Indian dramas producing agencies (Star One and 9X, NDtv Imagine etc),, my request to you all is;
(1) Please stop insulting peoples’ intelligence by prolonging the dramas and dragging the time limit to the end of time,, instead please end the dramas like English dramas and movies that each drama does not last longer than 5 weeks but your dramas are seemingly soooooooooo long and thus soooo annoying that we feel like put an end to such viewing!!!!!!!!!!
(2) Please also stop insulting peoples’ intelligence by bringing camera (s) on the faces of the actors over and over again with loud music during some kind of seemingly surprise situation because people here in England feel that in India people are seemingly very stupid that whenever some kind of a surprise matter occurs in Indian dramas, they keep flashing cameras on the actor again again,,, which is very stupid as we’re not kids we know that something said or done were surprising so need not produce such horrendous flash photography in your dramas and there shouldn’t be any music in the dramas as well but it should be quite and relaxing just like English (but also to some extent Pakistani) dramas i.e. no noise and stupid camera flashes and da doo’s dhol noises etc….
(3) As mentioned above; do not insult peoples’ intelligence by all the stupid (the reason I refer to it as stupid is because these love stories especially such prolonged ones does not suit this 21st century) lengthy annoying love **** i.e ” I love u, say it agin, I love u”, SOooo damn stupid!!! u insult top middle-class actors by such ******* ****/such dumb lines u give them to say??? Love u, love you, love you, soooo stupid!!!
(4) please also stop insulting peoples’ intelligence by making the villains appear above the law throughout the (ur endless ****) dramas that top-middle-class actors show their lines as dumb as u can get i.e in one particular drama “karam apna apna” on ‘Star Plus’ channel, the character who plays doctor ( such a high class person ‘a doctor’ acting so stupid that despite knowing all the problems occurring because of him, he still does stupid things by going back to the girl and annoy the character named ‘Samar’…. such **** does not even exist among poor working-class people who are simple but clever enough to know when things go wrong, as well as other channels including 9X, Ndtv Imagine tc show same intelligence insulting acting making fools of their actors and the veiwers … so please show some common-sense by showing short dramas and finish **** happening to people whom you show as top-middle-class (educated) people (the actors whom characters are shown as well educated) but yet insulted by such stupid things happening around him/her as if they’re idiots and not educated at all,,, hence does not match the character…
So simply finish each drama in total of 5 or 6 weeks then put a new drama so we don’t get bored with same ****,,, and no flash photgraphy (camera on faces etc for surprising moments) because that is VERYyyyyy annoying>>>>>>>>>
