‘Sivaji’ in Hindi avatar by year-end
The much hyped Tamil superstar Rajnikant’s latest blockbuster ‘Sivaji-the Boss’, produced by the famous AVM Studios and directed by another big name in Tamil Cinema Shankar, will be dubbed in Hindi.
According to sources in AVM, the only studio still surviving and making films about two decades after its counterparts Vijaya Vauhini and late icon Vasan’s Gemini Studios folded up, ‘Sivaji’ would hit the screens up North in its Hindi ‘avatar’ by the year-end.
”Music Director A R Rahman, who has scored the now hit numbers for the Tamil original, is working for the dubbed version while well known writer Sivanand Kirkere is penning the dialogues,” the sources said.
However, for a song in the film on the lines of hit numbers of late Tamil thespians MGR and Sivaji, the idea of using famous icons like Amitabh Bachchan was being mulled, the sources added.
However, nothing had been finalised as yet. Reports that the length of the film might be cropped were incorrect, they added.
”Director Shankar has not yet finalised other details and things will roll only after he gives the green signal,” the sources noted.
