Sanjay Dutt offers pooja in Karnataka
Film star Sanjay Dutt, out on bail after being sentenced to six years jail term in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts, today performed ‘Navagraha and Gana Homa’ in a priest’s house in Roilkere village in Uttara Kannada district today.
Mr Dutt, accompanied by two of his close associates, sat through the four-hour ritual in a priest’s to perform the ‘homa’ to ‘ward off evils and invoke prosperity’.
The ritual was a ‘private affair’ and no one were allowed except his friends who also sat with the actor.
The trio after completing the ritual also had food in the priest’s house and drove back to Goa to catch a flight to Mumbai.
Large number of villagers waited outside the house to have a glimpse of Mr Dutt though his visit to the village was kept secret.
Mr Dutt, is out on bail with the intervention of the Supreme Court after spending brief period in Yervada jail near Pune. Since then has been making to a number of temples including Vaishnovi Devi recently.
