Blackbuck poaching case: Salman appears before Jodhpur court
(No Ratings Yet)Bollywood actor Salman Khan today appeared before a Jodhpur court in connection with the blackbuck poaching case.
Salman appeared before the District and Sessions Judge of Jodhpur court, who was scheduled to hear his appeal against the conviction in the case. In the past, Salman was failed to appear several times.
According to Salman’s lawyer, the star could not appear in court as he was busy with his film commitments.
Salman will also appear before Chief Judicial Magistrate Brijendra Kumar Jain in connection with another poaching case and a case under the Arms Act.
On April 10, 2006, Chief Judicial Magistrate had convicted Salman in the poaching case and sentenced him to five years imprisonment. The court also imposed Rs 25,000 fine on him.
Salman has filed the appeal against the verdict. The case is of 1998 when a chinkara was killed by him at Ujiyala Bhakhar Ghora farmhouse here.
The actor has also been sentenced to one-year imprisonment in another poaching case. He was booked under the Wildlife Protection Act.
Salman and others, during the shooting of the movie Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1998, allegedly poached two chinkaras in Bhavad village near Jodhpur. He has also filed appeal against this case.
Six others accused in the case, namely Saif Ali Khan, Satish Shah, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam Kothari had been acquitted by the court.
