Renowned Pakistani singer Farida Khanum, who is also known as ‘Mallika-e-Ghazal’ (Ghazal Queen), is a die hard fan of the Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar.

In an informal chat with journalists, the Pakistani singer said besides the melody queen she was also a fan of Girja Devi and Anoop Jalota of India.

She said the people of Pakistan were very fond of Indian songs.

”The Indian singers and artists are the role models for Pakistani artists and music lovers,” Khanum added.

She said music transcended all barriers and boundaries to unite people across the world irrespective of caste, colour, creed and nationality.

Khanum also invited Indian artists, particularly from Kashmir, to perform in Pakistan.

Such visits would help break the walls of hatred between the peoples of the two countries and cement their relations, she added.
