Sanjay Gupta pens poetry to win back wife
Gun-and-gals guy Sanjay Gupta is turning over a new leaf with poetry penned for his autobiographical film “Alibaug”. The inspiration behind the lyrics is his estranged wife Anu.
“The only way I can express myself is through poetry. I’ve written quite a lot of poems for her, something I wouldn’t do for any one else in the world. So if people find my poetic efforts in Alibaug bad, they would know whom to blame,” jokes Gupta.
That the two have been separated for some years now is no secret. Although Gupta’s wife was by his side when he had a near-fatal road accident a few years ago, their marriage was already on the rocks by then.
But now there’s every sign of the couple getting back together. Anu accompanied Gupta on a trip to Pune Saturday to promote their film “Shootout At Lokhandwala”.
“Yes, she’s with me. And I’d love to have her back. As I grow older I do feel the need to find my roots again. And Anu is very much part of my roots. I can’t say I haven’t made mistakes. And she had every right to leave me. But now I’ve every right to want her back. My footloose days are over,” said Gupta.
