Aishwarya inaugurates photo exhibition of Indian cinema in London
A photo exhibition celebrating 75 years of Indian cinema was launched here by Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai at the famous Indian restaurant ‘Sitaaray’.
Dressed in a red sari, Aishwarya spoke of the long-time friendship she shared with one of India’s most famous lensmen Gautam Rajadhyaksha, whose exhibition ‘Faces’ will be on display at the Bollywood-inspired restaurant until April 21.
Part of a tribute to the stars of Indian cinema, the exhibition is a showcase of imagery from Rajadhyaksha, who has captured the greatest icons of Indian cinema from Dilip Kumar to Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan and beauties from Durga Khote, Nutan to Aishwarya Rai.
Aishwarya, who is in London to attend the international premiere of ‘Provoked’, with her fiancé Abhishekh Bachchan, has worked with Rajadhyaksha several times over the years for her films and various advertising campaigns during her modelling career.
His coffee table book contains 45 film personalities beginning with Durga Khote, one of India ’s first women of cinema and ending with Aishwarya.
Later in the evening, Rai attended the Provoked premiere at the Empire in Leicester Square.
