Mohnish Bahal applies for court’s NOC for passport renewal
Actor Mohnish Bahal has moved the Bombay High Court seeking “no objection” for renewal of his passport after the regional passport authority’s refusal to do so without court’s permission as he is involved in a litigation.
The application is expected to come up before Justice J H Bhatia in a couple of days.
Mohnish’s father Rajnish Bahal owned a flat at Dadar, which required repairs to stop leakage to lower floors. The corporation filed a criminal case in metropolitan magistrate’s court for not carrying out the repairs despite a notice from the ward officer.
On Rajnish’s death, corporation impleaded Mohnish in the case, for being legal heir of the deceased.
Mohnish then approached the sessions court, which granted him discharge from the case, his petition claims. But the corporation then filed appeal in the High Court, which is still pending.
The petitioner further stated that when he applied for the renewal of his passport, the authorities informed that since he was involved in a criminal litigation, he would need High Court’s permission for getting the new passport.
Since he wants to travel abraod for a film shoot, he approached the High Court a fortnight ago for getting NoC.
