Jaipur to host three-day int. Festival of short films
The city will play host to a three-day international film festival of short films from February 11.
The festival - IFFC 2007 - will show 100 films from different countries, including Iran, Brazil.
“We received 250 entries from almost 33 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cuba, France, India, Israel, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, South Korea and others but our jury members selected 100 films,” said organising committee Chairman Devendra Khandelwal.
To a question, Khandelwal said the jury members include director Basu Chatterjee, TV journalist Barkha Dutt, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and Aparna Sen.
Awards will be given for the best international film, best national film, best caricature film, best Rajasthani film and a special jury award.
Khandelwal said no entry fees or registration fees was being charged from the participants whose documentry films would be screened.
He said the festival will offer an opportunity for film makers of short films to witness movies from different cultures.
The films will be shown at INOX Cineplex. The media can watch them at the Jawahar Kala Kendra.
He thanked the state government for providing infrastructural support.
