Bollywood producer Gaurang Doshi seeks anticipatory bail
Bollywood producer Gaurang Doshi today approached a sessions court here to seek anticipatory bail, claiming that his girlfriend was attempting to implicate him in a false criminal case.
Doshi, the producer of Amitabh Bachchan’s film “Aankhen”, said in his application to the court that his girlfriend Flora Saini had filed a non-cognizable complaint with police on Valentine’s Day.
According to Saini’s complaint filed at Versova police station in north Mumbai, Doshi had allegedly physically assaulted and intimidated her on Valentine’s Day.
In his application, Doshi refuted these allegations and said the charges were false.
He alleged that Saini was putting pressure on police officials to implicate him in a false case and was also attempting to blackmail him by demanding money.
The prosecution sought time from the court to file its reply in the matter, and Sessions Judge P V Bavkar granted it time till February 27.
The court also directed police not to arrest Doshi until then.
