Karan Johar signs up with foundation to raise funds

Bollywood Director Karan Johar has signed up with Chennai-based Dean Foundation, a non-profit medical charitable trust providing palliative care and bereavement support to the terminally ill, to raise funds for palliative care.

Johar had originally planned to run the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon and raise money for the foundation. But a knee injury had prevented him from participating in the event, a press release from the Dean Foundation said.

However, he had pledged support to the foundation and said he was committed to raising funds by other means, it said.

Two students of the Dean foundation from Chennai and Bangalore would run in the Pledgers United Category of the Mumbai Marathon, the release added.
