Hema Malini prays at river banks at Ardh Kumbh Mela

Bollywood actress and Bharat Natyam exponent Hema Malini has lightened up sacred riverbanks with her classical dance performance during the Ardh Kumbh Mela.

Hema Malini, who enthralled audiences as well as holy-men present during her dance performance on the banks of Ganges River, has said that it had a divine touch.

“We came here to see Hema Malini dance. It was really wonderful. It seemed as if a “Devi” had descended,” said Hanuman Das, a holy-man.

A BJP member of the Rajya Sabha, Hema Malini now devotes most of her time to classical dance performances and an occasional character role.

She is a dedicated Bharatnatyam artiste and a classical dancer. Her two daughters have trained in the related Odissi School of dance. All the three have performed together at several charity dance concerts.

Hema Malini has starred in several successful Bollywood films in the 1970s and most notably the extremely successful Sholay.
