Case involving actor Nana Patekar disposed

A court today disposed of a case involving actor Nana Patekar and industrialist Utkarsh Morarka after both of them said they had no interest in pursuing it.

Morarka and Patekar had filed complaints against each other in Mumbai and Pune respectively on May 13, 2005, alleging that the other had attempted to kill him.

“The police after investigating the matter filed a B summary report in the case stating that the complaints were not proper and there was no ground for prosecution,” Nilesh Pawaskar, Patekar’s counsel, told PTI.

The magistrate asked both parties whether they wanted to pursue the matter and “when we stated that we had no desire to do so, the court disposed of the matter”, Pawaskar said.

Morarka filed a complaint against Patekar stating that after a minor incident while they were driving on the highway, the latter had threatened him with a gun.

Patekar too filed a complaint with police the same day in Pune, alleging that Morarka had attempted to kill him while driving rashly.

Following the incident, Patekar approached the Bombay High Court to seek anticipatory bail, which was granted to him.
