Rain plays spoilsport at IFFI
Rains proved to be a dampener as the first beach screening of a film as part of the International Film Festival of India here was delayed due a sudden downpour.
Adding to the woes of those assembled for the screening was the fact that the organisers were forced to show the animated film “Hanuman” instead of the popular “Lage Raho Munnabhai”.
“Due to some technical problems, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s office could not send us the print of `Lage Raho Munnabhai’. That is why we screened ‘Hanuman’ as a back-up,” said Raman Raheja, the organiser for the beach screenings.
“Due to the rain, we had to delay the screening by almost an hour and a half,” he added.
The delay coupled with the dissapointment of not seeing Munnabhai in action seemed to have disappointed fans and only a small crowd was seen at the venue.
Today was the first day of the beach screenings, which will continue throughout the 10-day festival.
