Film Bazaar at IFFI

Claiming that its `Film Bazaar’ at International Film Festival of India (IFFI), 2006, would be different from the earlier ones, the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) today said it would have a special buyer-seller lounge.

It would also have space for independent filmmakers and location lounge, CII officicials said.

“At location lounge, the states with strong film tourism properties will be pitching for shooting locale,” they added.

While IFFI-2006 is slated to be held from November 23 to December 3, the four-day Film Bazaar would be inaugurated on November 24 at Kala Academy.

“The Film Bazaar is positioned as an ideal networking platform where participants can showcase and promote their services, products, explore new business opportunities and partnership,” CII said in a release.

Renowned companies like Prasad Group, National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Hyderabad-based Digiquest, Indian Film Exporters’ Association, Films Division, Chennai-based Golden Square Films, South Indian Film Exporters Association, Children’s Film Society of India, Ramesh Deo Production, Kolkata-based Madhushree Creations would be participating in the bazaar this year, it said.

The film bazaar also provides business opportunity to production houses, technology companies and those providing services in the entire value chain of the business process of movie-making CII stated.

“A series of seminars and workshops will be organized focusing on co-production treaties, interactions with global sales agents and scripting,” they added.
