CDs seized in anti-piracy drive
(No Ratings Yet)In a major anti-piracy drive in the metropolis, the police have seized more than 5,500 CDs of some of the big-budget Hindi movies including just released multi-starrer ‘Dhoom-2′.
Sleuths of the Enforcement Branch and Detective Department of the city police also arrested five persons during the raids conducted over the last three days, Deputy Commissioner(I), Detective Department, Gyanwant Singh said.
Singh told reporters here that bulk of the pirated CDs were of popular Hindi films like ‘Dhoom-2′ ‘Don’ and ‘Jaan-E-Mann’ The seizures were made during raids at places like Chandni Chowk and Sealdah in central parts of the city and at Baguihati near the city airport.
The police also busted small time piracy centres at these place by seizing a number of CD writers, inlay cards and other accessories required for copying.
‘Dhoom-2′, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwariya Rai and Hrithik Roshan, was released only last Friday while Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Don’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Jaan-E-Maan’ was released two weeks ago.
