Aishwarya has no knowledge of the money package

Actress Aishwarya Rai’s lawyer today said his client has no knowledge of the packet that was addressed to her containing 23,000 euros and she has not been summoned by the Customs department for questioning in this regard.

“My client has no knowledge of the packet that was addressed to her and we are in no way a party to this. We have not yet been contacted by the Customs authorities nor has she been asked to appear for any kind of questioning,” Rai’s lawyer Girish Kulkarni told PTI here.

“However, Aishwarya will appear for any questioning if there is a need. There is nothing wrong in that,” Kulkarni said.

“As of now, it is difficult for us to say why this packet was addressed to her and by whom. It is too early to say anything about a frame-up or attribute any motives to the incident. I believe the Customs authorities are themselves looking into the matter,” he added.

Rai’s manager Hari Singh said the actress is currently in Jaipur shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s `Akbar Jodha’ and that she herself heard of the news from the media.
