TV Star Rajiv bombed by birthday calls

Television actor Rajiv Khandelwal received over 2,000 calls on his birthday and, surprisingly, 30 percent of the callers were from Bihar.

“Can you believe it? I didn’t know I had so many fans in Bihar. As for the SMS, I haven’t even started counting them. At times there were a hundred people calling in simultaneously. It was awesome,” Rajiv told IANS.

Rajiv admits this was the best birthday of his life.

“And the best part of the whole event was when the channel that had got me to talk to my well-wishers suddenly brought my mother at the venue. I didn’t even know she had had flown in from Jaipur for me. It was a truly emotional moment.”

Such was the flurry of activity on his birthday Oct 16 that Rajiv just didn’t have the time to meet best friend Amna Sharif on his birthday.

“But we brought in my birthday together the previous night. In fact, I cut a cake with her in the car. That’s how hectic things got for both of us.”

Any birthday wishes for Rajiv?

“Yes, I want this overwhelming goodwill that I witnessed on my birthday to continue. And the only way to do so is if I do another show that would have the same impact as ‘Kahiin To Hoga’. Fortunately, no one calls me Sujal any more.”
