Sammir Dattani is in Kent shooting for a hush-hush project called “Sajini” for “Provoked” producer J. Murli Manohar.

Sammir reluctantly reveals a few details about the film.

“It’s a love story featuring me and a new girl. It tries to say the things that ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ said. But in a different way. Half the love story is set in England and the rest in India,” Sammir told IANS.

The other day the unit shot a love scene in the green splendour of Kent.

Revealed Sammir: “They shot my introductory sequence on roller skates in the local college campus and we shot the love scene on a train.”

For those who came in late, Sammir is a national level roller skates champ and extremely sporty.

“I try to incorporate some sporting activity or the other in all my films. The guys here suggested a swimming scene. I told them roller skates sounded better.”

Terribly homesick and missing his mother, home food and friends in Mumbai (in that order), Sammir is surprised by the number of Bollywood units in Britain.

“You can’t step on to the roads of London and its surrounding areas without bumping into someone from Mumbai. Abhishek was here shooting.”
