The Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Spring/Summer 2007, starting October 31 here, would showcase 43 leading Indian designers along with four international fashion designers.

The international designers include Nathalie Garcon and fashion house Leonard, both from France, and Clive Rundle and designer brand Sun Goddess, both from South Africa.

Two retail brands, Allen Solly and Stanza, will also for the first time unveil their collection at the five-day meet of fashion designers.

Talking to reporters, Lakme Lever Vice President Anil Chopra said the organisers were this time taking stringent measures to avoid any wardrobe malfunction on the ramp.

A set of guidelines have been prepared and will be handed over to all designers and choreographers to which they have to adhere.

It may be mentioned here that a wardrobe malfunction of a model on the ramps during the last LFW show had created a controversy.

The Lakme Fashion Week is a joint initiative by Lakme and IMG, the global company involved in organising fashion weeks and event production.

IMG MD Balu Nayar said that LFW has got five new sponsors in addition to sponsors of the last Fall Winter week in March.
