Don’s love Monica Bedi gets 5 years jail term
(No Ratings Yet)Abu Salem’s love interest and Bollywood actress Monica Bedi has got 5 years jail term by the CBI special court yesterday in Hyderabad.
She was acquitted under Section 12 of the Passport Act, 1967, but found guilty under three IPC sections. She has been held guilty of violating Section 419 (impersonation), for which she will spend 3 years in jail, She also got 5 years in prison under Section 420 (cheating) and three years for criminal conspiracy (Section 120 B). All these terms will run concurrently.
This means that though these entire terms sum up to 11 years, she would be required to spend only 5 years behind the bars. Also, because she has already spent 10 months in jail, she will spend the balance 4 years and 2 months at the State Prison at Chanchalguda, Andhra Pradesh.
Monica was charged with getting a forged passport made from Kurnool in the name of Sana Kamal Malik in August 2001 and using this passport to go out of the country. She will be appealing to the High Court against the verdict.
