Complaint filed against folk singer for manhandling photographers
A complaint has been lodged here against noted Gujarati folk singer Farida Mir for allegedly manhandling two press photographers, police said today.
The two photographers, identified as Aniruddh Nakum and Prakash Ravrani, work for local dailies here. They were admitted to a private hospital after they were allegedly attacked last evening by Mir, her driver and security guards in Karanpara area of the city, police said.
The members of the District Press Photograph Union also gathered at her residence last night and staged a dharna after police failed to trace her.
They demanded strict action against the singer, who has been absconding since the incident took place, police said.
