Bollywood’s comment on final judgment in Priyadarshini Mattoo case

The Delhi High Court’s capital punishment verdict on Santosh Singh in conenction with the 1996 rape and murder of Priyadarshini Mattoo evoked both relief and cheer in the public.

Bollywood film producer Ashok Pandit, who was also instrumental in gathering support for this case, said: “It’s big victory and a great day for the common man of India. We thank judiciary for their verdict. The final judgement has proved justice does prevail in India. Now, the public can expect more from the judiciary in near future.”

Bollywood actor Anupam Kher expressed his joy over the final judgement by terming it “a landmark judgement”.
