Bollywood alliance to fight piracy
(No Ratings Yet)Producer Sajid Nadiadwalas upcoming film Jaan-e-Mann has tied up with United Film Organisers (UFO) Moviez in yet another bid to fight piracy in Bollywood.
UFO Moviez, a digital cinema network, celebrated its 400th installation in the country with a screening of an exclusive curtain raiser of Jaan-e-Mann, which is Shirish Kunders directorial debut, reported Bollywood Trade.
UFO mainly aims at saving print costs and curbing piracy and plans to create a chain of 3,000 digital cinema houses worldwide by 2008.
We at UFO are proud to be associated with Sajid Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. We will fight piracy and ensure that a film reaches audiences on the day of the release itself. We have released 146 films in eight languages so far, said Raaja Kanwar, director and vice chairman of UFO Moviez.
He added: Our association with Jaan-e-Mann is a joint promotional and brand building exercise wherein both the parties benefit from each other. We will extensively promote the film in our 400-strong theatre chain.
Jaan-e-Mann, starring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta, is set for an Oct 20 release.
Nadiadwala too seemed happy with the venture. UFO will serve as a cost effective solution for distributors. It will take away the possibility of piracy and Im glad that we are the first to be associated with Rajaa. Its a celebration of technology and entertainment coming together.
Director Kunder also echoed Nadiadwalas sentiments: For me digital cinema and UFO allow the film to be seen and appreciated by everyone everywhere.
