Bhansali, other accused granted bail

A sessions court here today granted anticipatory bail to film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali along with another accused in connection with a case related to the fire on the sets of his film ‘Black’.

Bhansali had sought anticipatory bail fearing arrest in a case filed against him under the Essential Commodities Act.

The court granted Bhansali bail on a surety of Rs 10,000 and directed him and the co-accused to attend police inquiry on Sundays and Mondays till the chargesheet is filed.

Antique dealer Farida Hoosainally had said she had rented out rare antique furniture for Bhansali’s film `Black’, which was burnt in a fire on the sets of the movie during the shooting.

Besides claiming damages for burnt furniture, Hoosainally also filed a police case against Bhansali and other directors of Applause Bhansali Film, a production company which produced `Black’, alleging that during the shooting, domestic LPG cylinders which are prohibited, were used.
