The very First Indo-Brazilian feature film on the anvil
(No Ratings Yet)After the shooting of “Dhoom II” in Rio de Janeiro, the first time an Indian film has been shot in Brazil, an Indo-Brazilian joint production will soon get off the ground.
Directed by well known filmmaker Anna Cristina Tostao e Silva, the feature film will be a cinematic version of the novel “The Tamarind” and will be co-produced with Indian filmmaker Indrani Chakravarty.
The film - which is at the conceptualisation stage - will have Indian and Brazilian actors and will be shot in both countries, Indian officials here said. It will roll in 2007.
Chakravarty, a native of Kolkata, had done a course in filmmaking at the Cuban Film Institute, the officials said.
A broad cultural agreement, including collaboration in the field of cinema, was signed during the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who concluded a three-day visit here Thursday.
