Peacefull protest, Munnabhai style
(No Ratings Yet)Inspired by Sanjay Dutt’s film “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, residents of the state capital today staged a novel protest against opening of a wine shop near a temple in the city’s busy Rana Pratap Marg.
Sporting Gandhi caps and carrying rose flowers in their hands, the protestors marched towards the collectorate and met senior administrative officials to press their demand for removal of the wine shop.
They offered rose flowers to passers-by besides a memorandum containing their demands to draw their attention.
One of the protestors, Shiv Kumar Lakhana, said they were inspired by “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” in which Sanjay Dutt adopts Gandhian means to register his protest.
Police detained about 20 protestors but released them later.
The protestors met Additional District Magistrate, City, J P Singh and submitted a memorandum along with the rose flower.
