Newspaper queen says, “Yes” to Bollywood
You certainly cannot ask for more if participating in a local protest march, lands you in the glamorous world of Bollywood.
And, this is what Yamini Sharma, a student of a Chandigarh college, is thinking two days after she was approached by filmmaker Satish Kaushik for a new film.
Over the weekend, 18-year-old Yamini announced her plans to work as lead actress in a proposed film.
Originally belonging to Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district, Yamini has now made up her mind to take up the coveted assignment.
Film Director Satish Kaushik recently contacted her after getting fascinated with her photogenic looks in a newspaper while she was participating in a college protest to make the use of cellular phone permissible in classrooms.
Yamini, who is pursuing a Masters in Business Administration, revealed that Aishwariya Rai and Kajol have been her role models since childhood.
“I like Bipasha Basu a lot but Aishwariya Rai and Kajol are my ideals. They have created a reputation so that the people’s mindset- to see a heroine with negativity, has changed. They have done a great for the whole country, especially Aishwariya, who is globally recognised. She represents our country, which is appreciable,” said Yamini.
Besides Yamini’s parents are also supporting her decision saying, “Parents think of many prospects for their children. They want their children to become doctors or anything else. We never forced our daughter to do anything. Earlier, she decided to do an MBA, but now she has got the offer from Bollywood. She has taken the decision on her own to go for it and we are with her decision.”
Kaushik, who was struck by her beauty and hunted her down in Chandigarh during his visit two days ago, has offered her the lead role in his next venture ‘Tere Sang’, which is based on a love story.
He, however, said that Yamina would have to undergo a screen test before her entry into Bollywood.
