Movie ‘Page 3′ to be screened at Raindance festival
Director Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Page 3″, which put the high society under scanner, will be screened at the prestigious 14th Raindance Film Festival in London Oct 7.
“I’m flattered that ‘Page 3′ is being screened at Raindance, which is a very prestigious British film festival, and that too as a ‘Bollywood’ film! When I made ‘Page 3′ everyone saw it as an offbeat film. Funny, how far the film has gone!” Bhandarkar told IANS.
The film starring Konkona SenSharma will be released at the fest, which started Wednesday, with the subtitle “Bollywood Explosion”.
Laughs Bhandarkar: “It’s quite amazing that ‘Page 3′ continues to be in the news although I’ve released another film ‘Corporate’, just completed ‘Traffic Signal’ and now I’m on the verge of starting ‘Fashion’.”
It looks like Bhandarkar won’t get much time to spend with his newly born baby.
“We’re yet to find a name for her. But right after the naming ceremony I’ve to unfortunately leave for London. Normally, I wouldn’t have liked to go when I need to spend time with my baby and wife. But this is important.”
The other Hindi film to be screened at the festival is Shoojit Sarkar’s Kashmiri love story “Yahaan” starring Minissha Lamba and Jimmy Shergill.
