The festive spirit that has pervaded the entire country seems to have touched the box-office as well, with not one but two mythological movies hitting theatres today, including India’s first 3D animation film on the antics of Lord Krishna.

“Jai Santoshi Maa”, a remake of the original 70s’ blockbuster, and “Krishna”, the country’s first 3D animation film, are being released, with producers hoping to cash in on the festive season and increased devotion in the minds of cine goers during the Dussehra-Diwali season.

“Krishna”, produced by Jayantilal Gada, focusses on the antics of the child Krishna, has music by Rajendra Shiv and songs sung by top singers such as Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Alisha Chinai.

While the producers hope to attract both kids and adults to the movie with the element of animation and devotion, the makers of “Jai Santoshi Maa” expect fans of the original film to throng the theatres again.

In an attempt to build enthusiasm for the movie, the producers, Percept Picture Company, held an exclusive preview of “Jai Santoshi Maa” for temple priests here on Wednesday wherein ‘havans’ were performed during the ongoing Navratri.
