Govinda’s nephew, friends arrested on assault charges
Janvendra, a nephew of Bollywood actor Govinda, along with his friends, have been arrested on assault charges after allegedly attacking the wife of a personnel assistant to Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sunil Tatkare, police said on Saturday.
Police said that Janvendra, the son of film producer Kirti Ahuja and his friends were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by Seema Chincholikar, the wife of Dayanand Chincholikar.
He will be produced before a suburban court today.
In a statement made before the police, Seema alleged that Janvendra and his friends tried to molest her in the presence of her husband near Juhu Beach on the night of September 20.
She also alleged that when she fought back, the accused assaulted her husband.
