Actress Neelam showcases signature jewellery collection
(1 votes, average: 5 out of 5)Actress-turned-designer Neelam Kothari’s signature jewellery collection is on show at a leading fashion store in the capital and it is difficult to miss the prominent Mughal impressions in her creations.
“The Mughals and Nizam’s always attracted me and hence it became the inspiration behind this collection of mine. My style statement is classic and timeless,” Neelam told IANS.
Though fashioned after period pieces, the jewellery that is on display till Sep 30 at Carma Arts & Crafts Pvt. Ltd. in Mehrauli, south Delhi, is designed keeping in mind the trends of today.
“My styling is for everyone”, said Neelam whose target buyers start from the age of 17.
The fine range of jewellery includes rings, pendants, bracelets, bangles, necklace sets, pendants and earring.
The collection consists of fine diamond jewellery crafted in 18-Carat white and yellow gold. An eclectic mix of pearls and stones like Burma rubies, Columbian and Zambian emeralds along with diamonds can be spotted in the jewellery inspired by Mughal designs. The prices range from Rs.50,000 upwards.
“I love to use a lot of coloured stones, as I believe it makes a jewellery piece a lot more interesting,” remarked Neelam.
A speciality of Neelam’s jewels is an invisible setting using Burma rubies. In the setting, the metal used to hold the precious stones together is not visible at all.
“I like my jewellery to look very delicate and I have an aversion to too much metal showing in a piece. The attention should be more on stone than the metal,” said Neelam.
The collection, inspired by royal designs, offers customers classic pieces that can never go wrong or go out of style and remains unruffled by the changing jewellery trends.
