Touted to be the biggest film of the year, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal and Kirron Kher.
The music is already making waves and audiences are expecting nothing but the best from the man who boasts of being able to capture the best and the worst of human emotions.
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna is the story of a football player, Dev (Shah Rukh Khan) - whose career falls apart after an accident that leaves him handicapped for life - and Maya (Rani Mukherjee) who struggles to come to terms with her inner self after she realises that she cannot have children.
Dev’s wife, Rhea (Preity Zinta), is a modern career-driven girl, while Maya’s husband Rishi, (Abhishek Bachchan), is everything that is classy and urbane.
The movie explores the depths of human emotions, the dark corners of every personality. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna takes an interesting turn when Dev meets Maya and sparks fly.
The new found relationship soon creates complications between the two couples. It also causes them to put their lives and their marriages into perspective and face life as they had never done before.
The film answers one of the hardest questions of life - ‘What do you do when you meet the love of your life and you’re married to someone else?’
“The film explores what happens when the institution of marriage is gotten into in haste. Sometimes, it’s just a feeling that we get married to,” Shah Rukh told CNN-IBN in an interview.
Shot in Mumbai and New York, the film is all set to hit theatres across India on Friday, August 11.
With music by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy and lyrics by Javed Akhtar, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna sees Karan Johar return to the director’s chair after donning several roles - producer Kal Ho Na Ho and Kaal, story and screenplay writer Kal Ho Na Ho, costume designer Main Hoon Naa, Veer Zaara and actor Home Delivery.
