Well if you’re wondering what these actors are upto, it’s just the similarity in their roles that we are talking about. Actors playing journalists is slowly catching up in Bollywood. Be it veteran actress Sridevi in MR INDIA or Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla who played rival journalists in PHIR BHI DIL HAI HINDUSTANI. The effervescent Preity Zinta as ‘Sufiya Parvez’ in MISSION KASHMIR and ‘Romilla Dutta’ in LAKSHYA or Anil Kapoor in NAYAK. Konkona Sen Sharma in PAGE 3 and Priyanka Chopra in the blockbuster KRRISH.The latest to join the Bollywood’s ‘journalists squad’ are actors John Abraham and Arshad Warsi who play journos in Kabir Khan’s KABUL EXPRESS.
Presumably the RJ (Radio Jockey) mania might also become a hit formula with the directors. Preity played the stunning, vivacious RJ in SALAAM NAMASTE and now the demure Vidya Balan is all set to play RJ Jhanvi in LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI.
