High Court grants bail to Priyanka Chopra’s former secretary
The Bombay High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Prakash Jaju, former secretary to Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra.
Jaju will have to be released in the event of arrest on furnishing bail of Rs 15,000, Justice R S Mohite ordered yesterday. He will also have to report to police station whenever required till the probe is over.
Jaju sought anticipatory bail first from the sessions court, fearing arrest after Priyanka’s father lodged a police complaint in May alleging that Jaju was threatening her and her family over a dispute regarding his fees.
Priyanka’s father also alleged that Jaju sent her vulgar SMSs.
Sessions judge had rejected his application, after which he moved the High Court.
Jaju has put up a claim of over Rs one crore on Priyanka and her family saying he had entered into an agreement with them to promote the actor but they had refused to pay the money to him.
