Emraan Hashmi’s prank takes a nasty turn!

When a harmless prank takes a nasty turn, a congenial working atmosphere can get combative. Like the time the leading actress Geeta Basra came to blows with Emraan Hashmi (better known for his kissing quotient on screen) when he pulled a prank on her on the sets of Aaditya Dutt’s Dil Diya Hai. What made matters worse was the fact that both share an equal animosity for each other. So, a prank that could have been dismissed turned ugly with the actress pouring a bottle of water on Hashmi’s head.

Basra says, “While waiting for the shot to roll, a fan came up to me and asked me to sign an autograph for him. He handed over a pen to me and said that the pen was a gift from Emraan. When I started to use the pen; I got an electric shock and it fell from my hands. I was so annoyed and baffled by the incident. I got to know later that Emraan was the one responsible for the incident. I was fuming and wanted to get back at him. So as soon as I got the opportunity, I emptied a bottle of water over his head.”

Emraan on his part says takes no responsibilty for the act. “Do you think I have no work other than sending electric shocks to co-stars. She didn’t pour any water on me. It was I who sprayed water on her from my hair spray bottle,” he says.However, director Aaditya Dutt spilled the beans on the two. “Emraan had brought the pens on the sets to play a prank on someone. When he saw Geeta waiting for her shot, he decided to victimise her. And that’s how she became the butt of his joke. This was followed by Emraan spraying water on her. That was when she lost her head and reacted violently,” he says.
