Emraan and Ashmit are humble guys- Geeta Basra

The name Geeta Basra may not instantly ring a bell but this newcomer is all set to make it big in Bollywood. She is pretty much like her character in her debut film DIL DIYA HAI. “I am a Punjabi girl from London and I’ve always wanted to be an actress. I first performed on stage when I was just 3 years. In DIL DIYA HAI, I play Neha, a middle class Punjabi girl from India who’s on a vacation to London. She is a young, bubbly, happy-go-lucky kind of a girl. She is adamant and no one can take her for a ride,” gushes an elated Geeta.

A novice in this field, she must have gone through those first day jitters and anxiety? “I was nervous and was mainly worried about my shots. I had an intensive role to portray so I wanted all my shots to go well. Emraan and Ashmit are extremely humble and cooperative. Even director Aditya Datt made me comfortable from day one. He is a young guy so he understands our generation. He knew exactly what he wanted. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing Neha,” she adds.

She says DIL DIYA HAI is a masala flick and she is more than happy with the way her role has shaped up. “I am extremely happy and satisfied with my role in the film. I’m glad I got a chance to exhibit my dancing and acting skills. Moreover I got a chance to be glamourous and de-glamourous as well.”
