Bhartiya Janshakti (BJS) workers allegedly ransacked a cinema hall here today in a bid to stop the screening of Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Kabhi Alvida Na Kahna” to protest the actor’s reported remarks comparing soft drinks with mother’s milk, police said.

The BJS workers broke furniture and window panes at Nirmal Cinema Hall but police teams dispersed them, Superintendent of Police J D Prasad told PTI.

Police were deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident and the screening of the film resumed. Police were vigilant after a similar protest at Indore some two days ago, he said.

Prasad said no arrests had been made.
