Bismillah Khan stable, being monitored in the ICU
Shehnai legend Ustad Bismillah Khan’s health is stable but he is likely to remain under observation for a few days at the intensive care unit of the Heritage Hospital where he was admitted this morning.
Khan’s vital parameters are functioning normally and his condition is stable, hospital superintendent P S R Ayer said while releasing a medical bulletin on the maestro’s health.
His blood pressure is normal and a series of ultrasound tests of his organs have been carried out. Khan is likely to remain in the ICU for the next two or three days, Ayer said.
The 91-year-old Bharat Ratna awardee was rushed to the hospital on the advice of his personal physician Nadeem Jafri after his condition appeared to deteriorate.
