Rang De gears for Golden Globe
Filmmakers of Rang De Basanti still have something to cherish for the film! As we had informed you, the UTV produced film is being considered for the prestigious Golden Globe Awards in the foreign film category. A 95 member team of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will watch the film on the 27th July at the Clarity Screening Theatre in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
Producer Ronnie Screwvala and director Rakeysh Mehra will be present during the event, which is followed by Indian dinner. The HFPA was founded around 60 years ago by LA based journalists who work for overseas publications. The body screens films every year before announcing the awards at the end of the year.
The annual Golden Globe Awards have enabled various NGOs to donate more than $5.5 million to numerous charities, scholarships and other programs in the past decade. The amount reached a phenomenal one million dollars with an additional $250,000 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund this year.
